Information we collect from Registered Supporters

When you voluntarily register with ShopFunds, we require you to provide your name, email, and mailing address. You will be requested, but not required, to provide additional personal information (title, phone number, shopping preferences, privacy options). You will also be asked to designate a participating group, K-12 school, university/college etc (“group”) to receive contributions from purchases you make in connection with the ShopFunds program.

ShopFunds may also collect information about your computer hardware and software. This information can include your IP (Internet Protocol) address, browser type, ISP (Internet Service Provider), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, # of clicks, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. ShopFunds uses this information to administer the ShopFunds.com site to detect problems with our servers, maintain the quality of the ShopFunds program and to track traffic patterns on the ShopFunds site. We will not track or analyze data according to domain names or MIME information.

What we do with the Supporter Information

ShopFunds uses your personally identifiable information to operate the ShopFunds program and to provide you with reports so that you know how much you have earned for your group. On rare occasion, it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement. These announcements will not be promotional in nature.

ShopFunds does not sell, lease or rent any personally identifiable information provided by you to any third parties. However, ShopFunds may provide participating groups with the names of those individuals that have designated the group as the recipient of contributions in connection with the ShopFunds Program and then only with your consent if you register with us.

ShopFunds may disclose your personally identifiable information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

(a) comply with legal process served on ShopFunds;
(b) protect and defend the rights or property of ShopFunds: or
(c) protect and defend the personal safety of users of the ShopFunds site.

Aggregated visitor information may be disclosed to third parties and will be used to better understand general site usage patterns, improve site usability, and add merchants and services, which will better serve our visitors' needs and interests.

The collection, use, and disclosure of information by our Merchants are subject to their respective privacy policies which we encourage you to review.

Security Measures

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the proper use of information, ShopFunds has put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

ShopFunds employs industry standard security measures to ensure the security of all data. All data is protected through user ids and passwords that are stored on an encrypted database. Access to member, merchant, and group data is accessible via password through their respective user accounts on the ShopFunds website by the appropriate individuals and by ShopFunds employees who require system level access in order to perform their job functions such as reporting and paying out group rebates. Each registered member is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of his own password used to access the ShopFunds Member accounts. Any breach in confidentiality will immediately result in the termination of the password access and a new password will be issued.

Changes to this Statement

ShopFunds may update this Privacy Policy from time to time for reasons of necessity based on business requirements, technologies or legal obligations. Any material changes will be posted prominently on this site. Except as otherwise required by law, modifications to this Privacy Policy will not affect the privacy of data collected by ShopFunds prior to the effective date of the policy change.
