Who can enroll in the program?

Any non-profit organization or community group may participate in the Shopfunds program.

Why must participants be a Non-Profit Organization or Community Group to be a Progressive Fundraising customer?

Participating retailers agree to give a discount to Shopfunds for the benefit of a non-profit organization or community group only. The retailer is giving up potential revenue and wants to ensure that only a non-profit organization or community group are benefiting from the program.

Where do the cards come from?

Shopfunds purchases the cards directly from the retailers. The cards we provide to our clients are the same gift cards you would buy if you went to the retailer and purchased them yourself.

Can I use the cards anywhere?

The cards are accepted at all participating retailer locations across Canada. MarketPlace IGA can only be used in British Columbia.

What is the cost to our Group for getting involved?

There is no cost or obligation to buy anything. Just sign up online at Shopfunds.ca to register your group to begin your fundraising.

How long does it take to become set up as a Shopfunds customer?

A group just needs to simply sign up online and you will be sent an email in one business day of confirmation that your account is open, along with everything you need to start your program.

What happens if there's a problem with my cards?

Contact our customer service and we will look after the issue with the merchant on your behalf.

What if my cards are lost or stolen?

The cards are like cash and would be lost unless you recorded the number on the back of the card and the card has not been used. If not yet used then a replacement card will be issued if approved by the merchant.

How long will it take for my cards to arrive?

Your cards will arrive in one to two business days after payment is received.

Can I exchange or return gift cards?

No, sales are final because gift cards are treated like cash.

Do you store my payment information or data?

No, we do not store your payment information or data after your payment has been completed.

Do the gift cards expire?

None of our gift cards have expiration dates. Regulation of gift cards is under provincial jurisdiction; and all Canadian provinces have specific laws prohibiting expiration dates on gift cards.

Can the gift cards be used in the United States?

No. They can't be used in the United States.

Can the gift cards be used online?

Some can, and some cannot be used online. Please verify with the specific retailer before ordering.
